Herb Black launches 1st album

St Lucian calypsonian Herb Black has always been a favourite but was never able to win a title however that changed this year when he won every competition in which he participated.
Although his recent success has been described as amazing, Herb Black says his greatest achievement thus far is the release of his first CD, Calypso Jail.
After sweeping the country with his hit Suzette, the ten-track album which is a mix of both old and new songs was launched recently. At the launch the popular calypsonian explained that his fans have been the driving force in his career and the reason he has continued to perform despite what he describes as open dislike by judges.
A member of the Take Over Tent since 1986, the Tent is fully supportive of the accomplishments of the calypsonian that cause the tent name to be changed to Tent of Titles this year.
Herb Black won the Groovy Soca Monarch title with his popular song Suzette, which together with Wha You Bringing captured him the coveted Calypso Monarch title. He also placed second in the Road March Competition and won The People's Choice Award with Suzette.
