For the second year in a row soca superstar Machel Montano will headline twice in one night at Madison Square Garden (MSG) in New York City.
Scheduled for Friday 28, March the concert comes just before the release of Machel’s second album for 2008.
The album, Wining Season, will be available next month and a new international album is scheduled for a summer release.
Last year Machel set industry records by headlining two sold out shows on the same night when he performed at MSG in May 2007.
Various Caribbean stars spanning various eras will be part of the show, including living legend David Rudder and Calypso King of the World the Mighty Sparrow.
Also on the bill are Patrice Roberts (T&T), Macka Diamond (Jamaica), Rikki T (St. Lucia), Peter Ram (Barbados), and Problem Child (St. Vincent).
Other top entertainers are scheduled to appear, but the promoters are building anticipation by waiting for showtime to surprise the audience, many of whom are flying in to see the show.
"We want to present our Caribbean culture and music on the same level, on the same stage, and in the same atmosphere that other genres of music are presented on," explained show promoter Dahved Levy.
Machel Montano LIVE at MSG certainly does that, as the excitement and anticipation rises for this Friday’s show, which is certainly taking Caribbean music to the next level.
