When Grenadian brothers Kelson and Kellon Ogiste captured the Soca Monarch title in 2007 with High, it was the culmination of their six year musical career.

Although they started as solo artists, however feeling that two would make a greater impact than one, they decided to share the spotlight and work together in 2005, under the moniker Luni Sparks & Electrify.

The decision was the right one as in 2007 they made it to their first Soca Monarch finals and went on to capture the title.

The cousins of Grenadian soca star Mr Killa (Baby Killer) and the sons of Grenada’s first female Calypso Monarch – Lady City, have proven that talent does indeed run in the family, when they went on to become one of two Grenadian finalist, the other being Nnika, in the 2008 International Soca Monarch in Trinidad.

“It’s a dream come true basically. I have always been looking at the International Soca Monarch and wishing that one day we would be a part of the show, competing against top artists like Bunji, Fay Ann, and Iwer. We are just looking forward to performing at Fantastic Friday and showing that we have mad talent,” explained the brothers, who seem so in tune with each other and finish each other sentences that they almost seem to be one person.

Despite not placing in the top four in the competition Luni Sparks & Electrify showed great skill and determination, when they delivered a high energy performance to the enjoyment of the audience.

Backed by a large Grenadian contingent that included their mother and the Grenadian Minister of Culture Hon. Dr. Clarice Modeste-Curwen, the Grenadian artist proudly flew their flag high.

Now back in Grenada after what can only be described as a successful season in Trinidad, the duo who is known for hits like Come Back, Home Sweet and Miss The Mas, is already hard at work penning what they hope will be hits for 2008.

“We haven’t started to record as yet but we have tunes that we are putting together so soon we will be starting work. We also have a few collaborations in the works'" said Kelson looking at Kellon for agreement.

So look out for this talented duo who will certainly once again make their presence felt in the upcoming Grenada Carnival.
