Brighton Carnival has evolved from the legendary Samba Encounter's of May 2003-5. As part of Brighton Festival Daniel Bernstein, Carnival Collective and a host of volunteers put on weekends of workshops, performances and parades which will live on forever in the memory of anyone there.
Now a Community Interest Company, Brighton Carnival Association has the vision of producing a weekend of carnival on the seafront in Brighton, that in the future rivals Notting Hill, Trinidad, Rio and other famous carnivals around the world. We want local individuals, groups and communities to take part, and attract others from all over the world to join in a celebration of life.
Brighton Carnival is managed by a growing team comprising Suzi Dent, Hannah Barker and Rachel Lackie. A team of excellent volunteers are at the heart of Brighton Carnival and the Project Team is guided by the Board of Directors.
On the Board are Daniel Bernstein, Councilor Melanie Davis, Caroline Fletcher, Fiona Fletcher, Emily Hahn, Paul Jarvis, Kate Laird, Tim Lincoln, Judy Richards, Clare Sheppeard and Mike Weatherley. |
