SW Storm is exploding back onto the scene with his new tune, Carnival. “The melody came to me,” he says, “I closed my eyes and imagined being on the road for carnival; when I opened my eyes I was singing the chorus, and the song was built from there.”
Storm, whose real name is Sina Maraj, has been on the soca circuit for over ten years and is showing no signs of stopping. He is now known worldwide, and performs at many after-carnival fêtes in London, New York, Miami and Toronto.
Carnival was produced by Neil Bernard, and it secured SW Storm a spot in the semi-final round of the Soca Monarch competition. With the song receiving such a great response, he has released another track: Wha we Drinking. The latter was produced by Darryl Braxton, and it promises to be the drinkers’ anthem for the carnival period in Trinidad and Tobago.
