Tobago Fashion Weekend (TFW) kicks off on Friday 27th May at Pigeon Point Heritage Park, and will end on May 29th. The event is being produced by Designers United Stores (DUS), a new promotions and management non-profit organisation based in Tobago. TFW will occur in stages, beginning with workshops on the Saturday targetting those who are already involved in the fashion industry, as well as those who are interested in becoming involved. The workshops will cover a broad spectrum, including business ethics, intellectual property and garment construction and production, amongst others. They will provide an overview of the industry along with its professional demands.
The events will collections from approximately 25 designers, including Christian Boucaud, Ecliff Elie, Derron Attz, The Cloth, Passion Fruit Designs, Dexter Jennings, Francis Hendy, Lori-Antoniette Williams and Kimya Glasgow. DUS intends to better serve the needs of all the fashion-conscious Tobagonians.
Front row tickets are priced at TT$250, and general seating at TT$150 per night, and may be purchased at Barcode, Ciao Cafe, Pablo's Supermarket, The Limelight, Penny Savers (Canaan & Carnbee), Yolande's Boutique, Renmar’s and Bourgeois Boutique, all located in Tobago.
