In 2012, a humble bucket is the accessory of choice for the discerning fete-goer. And there’s only one man to thank for that – Marvin ‘Swappi’ Davis.

The Trinidadian soca artist, known for his distinctive ragga rap style, brings the trend to London tonight Friday 1 June when he gives his first performance in the UK at Poison UK’s 2012 band launch. While the monster hit Bucket will no doubt provide the highlight of his set, expect to hear his other big songs for 2012 Bubble on a DJ and 4D Gyal, as well as past hits Nah Go Play, Play My Flute and Any Day.

Poison UK launches their costume portrayal Carnevale Di Venezia at the Camden Centre, Judd Street, London WC1H 9JE. UK-based artists Ms Desire, Konata and Triniboi Jooci are also billed to perform.
