A collection of the classics of the Calypso King of the World, The Mighty Sparrow (Slinger Francisco), was released on 17th May by North Parade / VP Records, a soca anthology aptly entitled Doctor Bird. The double CD and DVD anthology edition is a collector's item; the CDs are packed with a total of 30 classic hits from 'The Birdie', as he is affectionately known, while the DVD contains rare footage of the popular entertainer both on and off stage.

The album contains hits that put Sparrow, as well as calypso/soca music, on the map, including Congo Man, Jean And Dinah and Mr Walker. Doctor Bird is a 'must buy' for calypso/soca aficionados and dedicated Sparrow fans alike, as it contains some of the best that the art form has to offer by one of the most electrifying and dynamic calypsonians.
