The first Trinidadian all-female soca band, SASS, spearheaded by the talented songwriter and soca artist Nadia Batson, will be unveiled on 9 November at the Anchorage, Trinidad. Specially invited guests, artists and media are expected to be present at the historical band launch. Since the news that the one-time Kes The Band member decided to part ways with that band and create her own, many have been patienlty awaiting the day: 'SASS day'.
The band is scheduled to grace the stage at 7:30pm; the event runs from 6:30 to 9:00pm. With three songs out: Shiver (Antilles Riddim), Hard Pong (with Mr. Raymond) & Whey yuh want (with Lyrikal), Nadia seems to be setting the pace for what can be expected from SASS.
We at Soca News are extending congratulations to Nadia B, and wish her and SASS all the best for Carnival 2012 and beyond.
