San Fernando Fashion week is being dubbed 'Passion For Fashion', and will be staged from 24th to 26th June. The first day of events is 'Retailers Day', where store owners and businesses are invited to showcase their latest brands and trends. The second day will be a workshop at Allison’s Royalty Plaza, which will feature cutters/ stitchers, craftsmen, jewellery makers, designers, makeup artists and retailers, with emphasis on the expansion of the local industry. Also expected on this day are foreign media, photographers, models, designers and Caribbean manufacturers.

The final leg will move to the deluxe Meditation Ballroom of the Paria Suites Hotel & Conference Centre, La Romaine, San Fernando. Organisers promise a total transformation of the venue, one that is sure to engage all patrons and participants. Local and international designers showcasing their designers at this year’s San Fernando Fashion Week includes Ecliffe Elie, Meiling, Saleem Samuel, Heather Jones, Nel Designs Exclusive, Deron Attzs, Anya Ayoung-Chee, Rodney Alexander, Peter Elias, David Rollie, Ashley Christmas and UTT Fashion Academy.

The organisers see a greater need for local designers' collections to be sold in retail outlets throughout Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean and, by extension, the rest of the world . With such creative designs and high quality execution, it is a task that the organisers are encouraging store owners and designers/manufacturers to undertake.
