Trinidad and Tobago’s Press Secretary, Garvin Nicholas, has landed a new job as the new High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. Training has already begun for the new High Commissioner at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with official documents having already been issued to Queen Elizabeth II, as Head of State of the destination country.
Speaking on the service Garvin Nicholas has provided, Prime Minister for Trinidad and Tobago Kamla Persad–Bissessar said, “Garvin has worked to the best of his ability as my press secretary. I expect him to function well in his new posting. I know he will make us proud, and I wish him all the best.”
Nicholas, who took up the job as press secretary on June 15th, 2010, almost clinched the victory for the People’s Partnership in the May 24th general election, by securing 8,077 votes in the Diego Martin North East constituency - only 462 fewer than the PNM’s Colm Imbert.
No replacement has yet been found for Press Secretary in Trinidad.
