KI Persad is the 2012 Trinidad & Tobago Chutney Soca Monarch

The 2012 Chutney Soca Monarch is KI Persad one of the frontline members of Chutney soca band JMC 3Veni. KI was up against eighteen finalist in this year's event, but blew away the competiton with his big track for the season Single Forever to take the first prize of one milion TT dollars.

Defending monarch Rikki Jai who has now worn this crown six times and was the recipient of a two million dollar TT prize in 2011 placed second even with the help of Destra Garcia on stage.
