A stellar line-up of established and emerging regional designers are set to unveil bold and exciting new collections at Caribbean Fashion Week (CFW) 2012. Cedella Marley, reggae singer-turned fashion designer, makes a much-anticipated return to showcase her debut swimwear collection, while veteran Trinidadian designer Meiling, shows her creations in the Women’s Resort category.

Among the fresh faces scheduled to attend CFW 2012 are Kazz Forbes, head designer at St George Fashion House, from the Turks and Caicos Islands, UK-based Jhaniel Smith of the House of Oshea, and Jamaican swimwear designer Rae Williams whose label is Wild n Free. Other highlights include the return of supermodel and Karl Lagerfeld muse Jeneil Williams and face of Ralph Lauren Oraine Barrett, to grace the catwalk.

Now in its 12th year, CFW takes place at the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston, Jamaica, from 7-11 June. Apart from the runway action, attention will also be focused on the strong cast of music artists who will provide this year’s entertainment.

American soul crooner Brian McKnight leads the cast and will give a full-length concert on 10 June alongside Baby Cham. Grammy award-winning Brit, Estelle, and The Jolly Boys will be the featured performers on 9 June. Meanwhile Konshens and soca star Shurwayne Winchester will represent Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago respectively on 8 June in a concert celebrating the islands’ 50th anniversary of independence.
